There
are four tips for you to choose an HDMI switch adapter:
1. Count how many HDMI devices you have and compare the number of devices to the
number of HDMI ports on your TV. Most HDTVs with HDMI ports have at least two.
Some have four. If you have four HDMI devices, and your Android TV box only has two HDMI
ports, you need a switch adapter with at least three HDMI ports. Remember, one
of the ports on the TV will be taken up by the input from the adapter.
2. Consider which features you need. Some people are happy with
getting up to press a button on the switch adapter every time they want to
change HDMI sources. Others demand a switch adapter with a remote control or
feature that switches inputs automatically when they turn the device on.
3. Compare prices and features on different models. Make sure
the switch you choose is compatible with the HDMI 1.3 standard if your HDTV is
2D. If you have a 3D HDTV, make sure it is version 1.4 compatible. You don't
want to spend more than you have to, but reliability and image quality degradation can be a problem on cheaper
switches. Read reviews on the models you are interested in.
4. Verify you have enough HDMI cables to go around, and that the
cables are long enough. Some switch adapters come with very short HDMI cables,
so you may need to purchase more cables.
